Text analysis is the process of understanding and making sense out of unstructured data. It helps dig into and make sense out of volumes of raw data by identifying patterns, concepts, structures, keywords and other categories in data. It is popularly also called Text Mining and is largely used in enterprise data handling where pounds of unstructured data arrive as raw materials for primary analysis.
Text Mining Helps:
Terms – Data extractions using keywords. Majorly used in optimising keyword research for search engine rankings.
Titles/Labels – Data extracted such as location, timestamp, product codes, IP address, etc.
Sentiment Analysis – Data used to gauge the sentiment of a particular situation/review/grievance/complaint etc. It helps to analyse the overall sentiment of a brand/platform/website/keyword. This is largely used to manage the online reputation of brands.
Descriptive – This is data extracted to convey the description of a particular content.
